Software Engineering Manager – Contract
IR35 determination TBC – Likely to be inside.
Rate: £800 – £1000 p/d
I am helping one of my longstanding tech for good clients hire a Software Engineering Manager on a contract basis for the next 3 – 6 months.
They are one of the UK tech unicorns working on making the world a better place! They have one of the best brands, very strong engineers and a very high performing engineering cultures! They acquired another business early 2020 to progress their mission further and there are no signs of stopping, literally over the past 12 months the business has hired an additional 200 engineers across the UK and EU.
This role is a hands off role where you will be looking after a team of 7 engineers within the integration team. The team work with React, Typescript, Node.JS and some Scala.
Day to day you will be:
- Contributing to both the technical and product vision of your team, making sure that their products are successful.
- You’re unlikely to be hands-on with the code, but will have enough technical experience to be able to contribute to and guide technical discussions, bringing the big picture context.
- Managing and nurturing engineering talent, encouraging development both professional and personal.
They are a great bunch of real team players, pulling together to get stuff done. You will have the opportunity to support and deliver a step change in the world we live in. You’ll have an agile mind, positive approach to problem-solving, with an enthusiasm for tech for good.
There is an opportunity to be hired on a permanent basis, and or switch to perm after the contract has ended, or also just be part of the team on a contract basis for the next 6 months.
The team are looking for someone who is confident to make an impact from day one with management.
We are currently reviewing IR35 and this is likely to fall inside. The rate will reflect determination hence the budget of £800 – £1000.
Location: This team are in London so we would like someone to be able to travel to the office once a week however the technical director is flexible on this and we can make something work for the right person.
Please get in touch for immediate consideration. Interviews will be done remotely which will include 2 stages, one of which will be a technical review.
