Ruby Developer. Tech 4 Good – Accessibility
Fully Remote (UK)
Do you have a passion for Accessibility and Tech for Good? They you’ll want to join this wonderful bunch who have created a suite of products which are changing the lives of people living with a disability.
This lovely tech business are doing incredible things to help make the world more accessible. They are building software products that help people with disabilities interact in their studies and make their lives easier in the world of education. They believe that disabilities should not stand in the way of a good education and they want to do everything they can to help make this happen! We have been working exclusivity with them for the past 6 months and helped hire some unbelievable people.
They’re now expanding to wider industries whilst continuing to dominate the education sector, and they are going international! The feedback on their products have been second to none, and they are now looking to bring on a new Software Engineer as they expand their products and target new markets in the UK and overseas.
They are a small focused tech team of five engineers with lots of technical experience across many fields. – 11 people across the rest of the business. They work in a (small A) agile way – and have been adapting their ways of working over the past few months so that they support their technical aims, the product development, and provide visibility and predictability to the business. They hold daily stand-ups (remotely) and regular retrospectives to allow us to reflect on how they are working and ask for support.
You’ll be supporting their platform growth by adding new features and functionality as well as helping them make the platform more robust, well tested and developing tools for automation.
You’ll work closely with the CTO and other team members to build tools around dictation, transcribing, growing their API, licensing and natural language processing.
Which features you would work on will depend on your skillset and interests. The role is as “full-stack” as you would like – they have infrastructure-as-code to maintain and are growing a library of front-end components that will help them build their apps in a consistent and maintainable way with high standards of accessibility. You will have the opportunity to work in any and all these areas.
What you’ll need:
- You’re proficient with Ruby on Rails
- You’ve worked on a product
- You’ve got experience with Git and GitHub
They use a multitude of technology, much of which not all you’ll require experience with:
- Clients – Electron + HTML + CSS
They are currently fully remote, however are thinking about opening an office, more than likely in Bristol however only a handful of the team are down south, everyone is spread across the UK. Location isn’t an issue you do you.
Up to £75,000.
Never worked with a company to move so quickly with hiring so you won’t be sat twiddling your thumbs waiting for feedback!
