SENIOR FRONTEND ENGINEER| FULLY REMOTE | REACT | £70,000
We’ve partnered with a start-up who are on a mission to become the world’s best gifting platform. The platform gives you direct access to unique incentives, gifts & rewards that really work.
About 18 months ago when the apocalypse struck, they had to re-evaluate the business model but due to their resilience, they have completely pivoted and are now in a better place than ever before.
They’ve moved to B2B and since Sept 2020, they’ve signed up thousands of new customers, turned over record breaking numbers, been placed on a giant government framework which will give them a platform to feed over 100k school kids in need, and the British Red Cross are signed up to distribute vouchers to asylum seekers – MEGA!!!!
They’re now looking to welcome a Senior Frontend Engineer to the small but growing team of devs. As part of the core product team, you will work with members from all disciplines to build and support the core products developed in React and Vue.js.
Making people happy is part of their DNA, so it’s pivotal that they listen to their customers in order to achieve that goal. As the first dedicated frontend engineer, you will be working alongside full stack and backend engineers on the recipient, buying and integration experience. You will be expected to take ownership over all frontend products, leading and mentoring on good frontend practices. They are looking for someone who can provide a high level of polish and visual magic to all products.
They currently have two frontend apps – one written in Vue and one in React. They have plans to rewrite the Vue frontend app in React. Their rest of the stack is written in Node.js with a legacy PHP app which they are actively deconstructing into Node.js microservices.
All microservices are scheduled and run on AWS Elastic Container Service with all of their infrastructure defined as code and launched with Pulumi. They use MySQL and MongoDB databases with Redis and Elasticsearch where appropriate.
The juicy bits:
- A market leading salary based on skills and experience
- The choice of working remotely or in one of their Bristol or London offices
- 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
- A training budget to spend on your professional development (or a hobby of yours!)
- Access to the wider VC’s family of portfolio companies and your peers inside that family
- Optional team yoga on a Tuesday
- And, of course, regular treats – they practise what they preach!
Give me a shout if this sounds like you!
