The Company / Opportunity
Here is your chance to be the first hire within a brand-new exciting product team, working for one of the UK’s fastest growing tech start-ups who have recently received their Series C investment round of over £100 million big ones! It’s fair to say this is a unique and the sort of role that is highly sought-after. I’m looking for someone special to come on board and set the culture of the new team by attracting talent, setting & shaping the culture of the team, and ensuring that ultimately software is being delivered in the most efficient way. You’ll be supporting your squad through designing and building product features for a highly intelligent data-driven platform that is transforming the way some of the biggest companies are attracting talent around the world.
SR2 are thrilled to have partnered up with this business exclusively, to entirely focus on building their brand-new UK Remote engineering team. It’s a full-stack team who will have full ownership of their product and are leveraging technologies such as React, Node.js, Kubernetes, GoLang, GCP, MongoDB and more…

Ok, now let’s get down to some of the essential experience needed ?
If I met a genie and was given 3 wishes, I’d ask for an Engineering Manager who was…
- First and foremost, an empathetic servant leader with experience of line managing software teams (ideally with experience managing remote teams please Genie ?)
- Secondly, they would be coming from a technical background meaning they are credible in the mind of their engineers (not afraid to get their hands a little dirty on occasions – hand sanitiser provided of course)
- Thirdly, you’ve got the skills and experience required to attract, hire and create a culture for a new team of engineers who you’ll be line manging daily. (think: goal setting, career plans/progression, code reviews, leadership, dealing with stakeholders and all that jazz!)
I know that was quite specific… but who said you couldn’t be specific when being granted 3 wishes from a Genie?!
