CTO Opportunity | Bristol-based SAAS company | £70k
Fancy yourself a CTO in the nearish future but don’t want to leap to early?
Perhaps you’d like to transition into a strategic position with ditching dev work completely?
Well SR2 are exclusively working on an opportunity for an aspirational CTO to join a long established SAAS company in Bristol whose product helps tens of thousands of people get the support they need in an efficient and safe way. The product is built in PHP although the organisation are transitioning to microservices so are tasked with building out certain services whilst maintaining the existing platform.
What sets this organisation apart is their approach to their work – they don’t rush features, or rush to add features. They are considered in their approach and as a result their team live a relatively stress free life.
The culture is, in my opinion, fantastic – The reason I know this… I’ve placed half a dozen devs, PMs etc with this company, all of whom are still there. Also when I went to meet them all recently I was met with a sea of smiles. The current CTO is pragmatic, fair, flexible – just an all-around legend. He’s effectively being promoted so will still be around to help steer you where you need it although you will have ultimate authority of the dev team.
This role would suit someone who has progressed through the rungs as a developer, has progressed into leadership and takes joy in motivating others, setting technical direction and relishes the challenge of taking a product to the next level. You’ll be tasked with establishing technical and resource strategy, regularly communicating with developers to ensure they understand what you are proposing. You may from time to time get your hands dirty diving in to review code before release or the like although the lion share of your time will be spent in tech strategy and direction and leadership.
The team is established and they work in an Agile way with 2 week sprints.
They’d love someone who could get involved in moving the organisation forward in respect of security, data protection, ISO20001 although lots of prior experience of this isn’t a prerequisite.
You’d benefit from flexi working, R&D time and an adult working environment. You’ll also get healthcare, pension and a few other bits.
Ultimately if you are a Senior / Lead Developer looking to transition into a strategic role, this could be your chance.
