Senior Full Stack Engineer | JavaScript | Remote | £75,000

  • Permanent
  • Bristol
  • Salary: ££50000 - £75000 per annum

We’ve partnered with a start-up who are on a mission to become the world’s best gifting platform. The platform gives you direct access to unique incentives, gifts & rewards that really work.

About 18 months ago when the apocalypse struck, they had to re-evaluate the business model but due to their resilience, they have completely pivoted and are now in a better place than ever before.

They’ve moved to B2B and since Sept 2020, they’ve signed up thousands of new customers, turned over record-breaking numbers, been placed on a giant government framework that will give them a platform to distribute hundreds of thousands of school meal vouchers for kids in need and the British Red Cross are signed up to distribute vouchers to asylum seekers – MEGA!!!!

They’re now looking to add another Senior Software Engineer to the small but growing team of devs. The plan is to grow the team significantly over the next 12-18 months with all the early-stage engineers having the opportunity to push up into leadership roles – the progression opportunities are second to none.

Tech Stack: JavaScript, React (& some Vue), Node, AWS, MySQL, MongoDB.

Their stack is written in Node.js with a legacy app which they are actively deconstructing into Node.js microservices. They currently have two frontend apps – one written in Vue and one in React. They have plans to soon rewrite the Vue frontend app in React.

All microservices are scheduled and run on Kubernetes with all of their infrastructure defined as code and launched with Pulumi. They use MySQL and MongoDB databases with Redis and Elasticsearch where appropriate.

They have a strong DevOps culture favouring frequent deploys, with GitLab being used for continuous integration and delivery. All changes to master branches are peer-reviewed to promote code quality and knowledge sharing.

The juicy bits:

  • A market-leading salary of up to £75,0000 based on skills and experience (there is room for negotiation on this)
  • The choice of working remotely or in one of their Bristol or London offices
  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
  • A training budget to spend on your professional development (or a hobby of yours!)
  • Access to the wider VC’s family of portfolio companies and your peers inside that family
  • Optional team yoga on a Tuesday
  • And, of course, regular treats – they practise what they preach!

If you’d like to be part of something that could launch your career to the next stage, don’t hang around – get in touch!
